Whether you hike, paddle, climb, or lead others into remote environments, this hybrid course provides the essential skills needed to respond to medical emergencies where definitive care is delayed.
Taught by expert instructors from Landmark Learning using the NOLS Wilderness Medicine curriculum, this course blends online learning with immersive, hands-on training. The hybrid format includes:
- 3 modules of online coursework to build foundational knowledge at your own pace
- 5 consecutive days of in-person instruction in Chattanooga, TN
Participants will learn how to:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments
- Take and interpret patient history
- Provide extended patient care in remote settings
- Make informed evacuation and rescue decisions
Expect a dynamic learning environment with indoor classroom instruction and outdoor practical scenarios, regardless of weather. November temperatures in Chattanooga typically average in the mid-50s with low rainfall, but participants should be ready for any conditions.
